Thank you to all those elves (from the library, the Friends, the 25th Street Market, and non-affiliated others) who helped make the first Winter Bookmark a success!
We had so much fun. In the morning, the little ones came for storytime. At noon, Santa made an appearance! In the afternoon, we had authors who signed their books, writers who read from their works, and Logan’s Poet Laureate, who held an intimate workshop with the few who were brave enough to write a poem and then read it out loud. Students from our local middle and high schools came and sang French and German Christmas songs. And anybody who wanted to could learn how to make a three-dimensional star.
All day, vendors from the 25th Street Market offered their quality handmade items for sale in the conference room. In the library’s café, you were able to buy the yummiest treats and hot chocolate or tea or soda and take a break from the busy pre-Christmas season while listening to soothing, beautiful harp music.
If you joined the Friends of the NL Library, you had several options to participate and receive beautiful gifts with your membership.
The librarians gave tours of the MakerSpace. All of the proceeds from this event will be going to buy a 3D printer to be added to the MakerSpace.
We hope to see you and your friends again next year!
